Detox your body with yoga & breathing at Masha’s “Lymphatic & Detox Yoga Workshop” on Saturday, May 6th
Are you feeling stiff, swollen, heavy & lifeless? Your lymph nodes might be blocked! Come join Masha for a Lymphatic & Detox Yoga Workshop on Saturday, May 6th at 2pm-3:30pm in our Avani Yoga studio! She will guide you through a series of yoga postures & breathing exercises to increase circulation & drainage of excess lymph to build & maintain a strong immune system.
The lymphatic system is an important part of our immune system, protecting the body against infection. Its main function is to remove waste & toxins from the body to protect our immune system from pathogens. Lymphs are a clear, watery fluid that moves through the body picking up bacteria and viruses and filtering them out via the lymph nodes.
During this workshop, we will focus on:
- Dynamic flow to build heat to allow the muscle to contract and relax – the primary way lymph moves through the body.
- Practice of deep, controlled breathing to better circulate good fluids throughout your body and remove bad toxins.
- Twists to stimulate the flow of lymph up through the core of the body by squeezing the organs and muscles and then allowing fresh fluid to soak back in as the twist is relaxed.
- Supported and inverted poses to increases circulation of lymph to build up the immunity throughout the winter & change in seasons to keep common colds at bay.
