When Highland Park Hospital Health and Fitness closed in 2011, it left a void for fitness in the Buffalo Grove area until Sky Fitness took the bankrupt company over the following year. Now the gym is back bigger and stronger than before, offering a variety of group classes from MOSSA body training to aquatic therapy.

“The inspiration behind Sky Fitness was to bring back what was previously recognized as the finest health club in the region back to its glory days at a value price point,” executive director Larry Heller said. “We are an all-inclusive facility and all our yoga and group exercise classes are included in our value driven membership dues.”

The gym was voted best fitness facility in the region in 2016, winning the Best of the Buffalo Grove award with good reason: it offers many amenities including two yoga studios, a cycling studio, an indoor golf facility, a spa featuring massage therapy, and more. The facility encompasses 65,000 square feet and is stocked with the latest state-of-the-art exercise equipment. After a workout, members can relax in the jacuzzi, eucalyptus steam room, or sauna and enjoy a snack in the lounge area.
