COVID-19 Restrictions Will Loosen May 14

Pritzker: COVID-19 restrictions will loosen May 14;
Illinois could fully reopen as soon as June 11!

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Illinois will move into the Bridge Phase of the Restore Illinois reopening plan starting Friday, May 14.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker made the announcement Thursday and says the Bridge Phase will allow for expanded capacity limits for businesses and gatherings before the state moves to a full reopening in Phase 5.

Officials believe as long as there is no significant reversal in COVID-19 statewide indicators, Illinois could enter Phase 5 as soon as June 11.

Sky Fitness will have increased capacity limits starting 5/14. We will be allowed to host 60% capacity. During this bridge phase we will continue to support wearing face coverings. On June 11th we enter into phase 5 where we will not have capacity limits. Please remember even though we do not have capacity limits, we are nowhere near the participation of where we were pre-Covid, so you will still experience relatively light crowds. Sky Fitness will change policy from mandatory face coverings throughout the facility to “we suggest wearing face coverings for everyone’s personal safety and comfort, but we will no longer have mandatory face coverings rule” on June 11th. We will continue to look to CDC Guidelines and the Illinois Department of Public Health for logical safety applications.

We are extremely proud of our wellness results! We have now had almost 100,000 check-ins since re-opening last June and not a single known transmission of Covid-19 . We will continue our regimented safety & cleaning protocols so we can provide the very finest health & wellness experience for all of our members & guests.

To no one’s surprise this has been a very stressful year for most everyone. We want to thank our members for all their loyal support. We have done our very best to accommodate everyone the best we could during this pandemic, because we understand and appreciate that it is our members that make us great, and great is what we are going for!
