Sugary Treats Don’t Stand a Ghost of a Chance This Halloween

Sky Fitness Members work hard to stay fit, eat healthy and be committed to living their best life possible. And yet, here we are just two weeks away from Halloween and every store has bags and bags of sugary treats throughout the store, especially near the checkout. While most days, we have learned to ignore their presence, who hasn’t gotten tempted, waiting for the kids to go to sleep on Halloween night and race to raid their treat bags?

Curb your sugar cravings with these 5 foolproof tips for Halloween:

Stay Hydrated – Thirst and dehydration make you feel hungry, and often kick up food craving. Drinking throughout the day helps the body stay hydrated and controls hunger. Adding a little lemon, strawberries or cucumbers to your water does help switch it up.
*Recommendation: Drink about half your bodyweight (lbs) in ounces of water daily.

When we get quality sleep, we are relaxed, emotions are grounded, and able to resist holiday treats that we do not want to eat.

When human being are focused, breathing and refreshed, we treat ourselves with kindness and nourish our bodies with healthy food choices.

While it is cute to see the children running around in their costumes, we will be running around the track, strengthening our lungs swimming, moving strong in one of the many MOSSA group classes or working with our Sky certified personal fitness trainers! We are stronger than the memories of our childhood Halloweens. Life can be sweet without refined sugar!
